On Thursday, Sheats, a man with multiple DUI offenses caused a severe accident while driving under the influence. Unfortunately, this not only caused harm to himself but also caused severe harm to those around him. While driving his SUV in Longmont, Colorado, he caused an accident, which then caused more accidents and even death. With the impact of his SUV, he injured a 27-year-old woman who then lost her unborn baby from trauma and impact. There were no other fatalities associated with this vehicular accident, but minor bodily injuries to the drivers. Sheats was no where to be found after the accident.

Sheats has currently been arrested on two accounts of felony vehicular assault. He is also being charged with leaving the scene of an accident and driving under the influence.

As with many people with previous DUI convictions, it is hard to convince them of their need for safety and to assign a designated driver. The few times they are charged with a DUI, they assume that it is a mistake that they will not make again.
